Editor-in-Chief’s Note

It is with great honor and a deep sense of responsibility that we announce the launch of the Journal of Latin American Medical Sciences (Latin MED), an international, open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to promoting the advancement of medical knowledge and interdisciplinary dialogue on health in Latin America and worldwide.

We live in an era where science must cross borders, integrate knowledge, and thoughtfully reflect on the social challenges impacting population health. Latin MED is born as a response to this need: an editorial platform committed to scientific rigor, cultural and linguistic diversity, and the practical relevance of every published article.

Our goal is to create a space of excellence for researchers, clinicians, managers, educators, and policymakers where innovative ideas can circulate freely, contributing to the construction of fairer, more sustainable, and evidence-based health systems.

We invite the scientific community of Latin America and all regions of the world to engage with us in this project. Science born here carries a commitment to transformation, equity, and life.

With esteem and editorial commitment,

Dr. Renata Silva Mann
